Leadership Academy has started the search to create a team of energetic, fun, reliable staff!

Counselors will have the opportunity to work  at Camp Warner Park, Camp Bells Bend Beaman, Nashville Sail Camp, Teen Leadership Adventure and Mountain Bike Camp!

This traditional way to spend the summer has been known to change lives. Leadership Academy will provide you with training and skill to work with children of all ages, encouraging imaginative play, team building, and leadership.  We are excited to create a unique team that will be able to help campers enhance play and exploration to increase their creativity, confidence and social intelligence!

Staff Training

Mission: All our camp are summer enrichment programs that engage children in outdoor play and informal environmental education to raise awareness, foster respect and share enthusiasm for the natural environment.

Summary: Under the direction of the Camp Director and the Assistant Camp Director; Camp Counselors will be directly responsible for providing programming and a safe environment for a group of 10 campers.

Available Positions:

Business Manager, Year-Round

  • Summary: Under the direction of and open collaboration with the CEO, the Business Manager will be responsible to develop management systems and execute tasks for all business function of Ecommerce, customer service, database management, finance, human resources, contracts/permits, and logistics for all operations to provide safe and quality camp experiences.   Functions of the Job:
    • Be in daily contact with CEO for understanding the pulse of the company and what is going on.  Be ready to take down notes and create action plans and to do lists from these conversations.  Act as the Point Person for the company projects by moving ideas to project task lists and timelines.  
    • Maintain weekly contact with each team member/contractor about their projects and to do list/tasks.  Be aware of each project timeline and current status and team member’s involvement.  Managing staff to do lists, initiating follow up, and keeping project flowing to reach goal timelines.  
    • Manage bookkeeping, accounting, budgets, petty cash and other financial issues of the business.  
    • Be lead administrator for My Custom IT database system.  Keep the database current and be the training champion and organizational leader for this system.
    • Organize, book and manage all aspects of rentals, contracts, facilities, equipment and supplies for all camp operations
    • Develop and manage all aspects of human resources including recruitment, supervision and evaluation of team members.  
    • General Admin- Coordinating CEO schedule,managing contacts, online research

    Other Job Duties:

    This job may include work in other areas of Leadership Academy LLC programs or other duties as assigned.    

    Qualifications:

    The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to establish a rapport with staff, parents, campers, other professionals and key stakeholders. Must be highly organized and be able to manage multiple projects, large scale timelines and complex information. This position requires a strong computer-savvy person who has working knowledge of Google platform, CRM systems, social media, excel and WordPress. The ability to think critically, solve problems and make sound decisions is required.  Must have a bachelor’s degree, driver’s license and at least two years of related work experience, supervisory experience preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    This position would require the ability to listen to others, observe others’ actions, read text and information; comprehend instructions and manuals, and physical ability to move about the camp property in various environmental conditions including walking on uneven surfaces, sitting, squatting, crawling and jumping.  May be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time and loud to moderate noise levels.

Camp Counselors (Camp Warner Park & Camp Bells Bend Beaman) - $58/day

  • Under the direction of the Camp Director, Camp Counselors will be directly responsible for providing programming and a safe environment for a group of 8-12 campers.
  • Deliver a camp program that connects children with nature, fosters an attitude of conservation and ensures the program delivery in a safe and quality manner.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the campers.
  • Follow camp rules and risk management procedures to keep campers safe.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with campers, parents and staff.

Sail Camp Instructors - $63/day

  • Directing supervision, lesson plans, and maintenance of equipment. Working with one other staff member to create a safe educational environment for 10-12 youth ages 8-15.
  • Set up for classes and clean up each day
  • Ensure a safe, fun, and educational environment for your campers
  • General camp activities such as leading games and sailing with campers that need more attention
  • Complete basic science (STEM) activities with the students throughout the week

Teen Leadership Adventure Program Leader - $63/day

  • Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Program Leader will further the mission of Teen Leadership Adventure through the development and management of program and strategic operations. They will be directly responsible for providing supervision and a safe environment for a group of 6-8 campers.
  • Oversee the daily operation of the summer day camp including program, camper and staff supervision, and customer service.
  • Design, deliver, and evaluate a camp program that connects children with nature, fosters an attitude of conservation and ensure their delivery in a safe and quality manner.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with program participants, family members, and staff; Ensure high quality customer service for parents and campers.

Mountain Bike Camp Counselor - $63/day

  • Under the direction of the professional instructor, counselor will be directly responsible for providing supervision and a safe environment for a group of 8-14 campers.
  • Be comfortable on a mountain bike, comfortable teaching and guiding children on the bicycles as needed.
  • Deliver a camp program that connects children with nature, encourages children to learn and sharpen skills even when they are uncertain, ensures the program delivery in a safe and quality manner.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the campers.
  • Follow camp rules and risk management procedures to keep campers safe.

Digital Marketing Intern - $48/day

  • Must have car and valid driver’s license to travel to all camps.
  • Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Digital Marketing Intern assists in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail, web).
  • Support administrative team with daily marketing tasks.
  • Capture photos of campers participating in camp activities.
  • Upload and organize photo galleries on social media and web.

Program Assistant CWP - $48/day

  • Under the direction of the Program Director, the Asst. Program Director will assist in the day to day operation of the camp and ensure a safe and fun program for participants and staff.  
  • Assist the Camp Director in daily operations including program, business, and customer service.
  • Assist Camp Counselors counselors in the daily camp activities by providing support in organizing materials, helping to lead program.
  • Assist camp counselors through Interacting and playing with campers at activities.
  • Help to set up and lead daily all camp game, nature sharing and awards.
  • Organize and deliver camp shirt orders.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with program participants, family members,  and staff.

Requirements:

Basic requirements: All positions

  • Must have 1-2 years experience with direct child supervision and provide references.
  • Must have some college, preferably environmental or education majors.
  • Must have CPR and First Aid training from a nationally recognized agency before staff training.
  • Preferred: 1 year camp experience.

Additional requirements: Digital Marketing Intern and Program Assistant ONLY

  • Must be proficient in computer skills and related word processing, data management, and Internet computer software including social networking sites.

Additional requirements: Mountain Bike Camp Counselor ONLY

  • Must have experience Mountain Bike Riding; be familiar with the construction of a bicycle.

Additional requirements: Sailing Instructor ONLY

  • 1-2 years sailing experience; hold required sailing certification prior to first day of camp.

Flexibility available! Counselors work MF, 7:30-4:15 OR 8:30- 5:15 most days.
